About Us
The College of Education stands as a pillar-stone of educational excellence on the academic spectrum in Kuwait. The college is dedicated to providing higher education and exceptional training programs, working as a pivotal axis for students who aspire to make a significant change in the field of education.
The College of Education was established at Kuwait University in 1966 as part of the College of Arts, prior to separating and becoming an independent college in 1980. Within the frame of its development, the College of Education was one of the first colleges to move to Sabah Al-Salem University City in 2019, in a building that has been awarded the Award for Creativity in Design, equipped with smart teaching methods technology, the college has succeeded in expanding and growing to now include four academic departments and an English language teaching unit. Among its latest developments was the approval of Kuwait University Council 2023-2024 to establish a fifth department, which is the Department of Educational Technology.
The College of Education offers three programs: Kindergarten, Primary, as well as Intermediate and Secondary. These educational programs encompass 19 specializations across various scientific and literary fields, one specialization for the kindergarten program, six specializations for the Primary program, and twelve specializations for the Intermediate and Secondary program. The College of Education cooperates in offering the specializations of its programs with affiliated scientific colleges, including the Colleges of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, and Sharia and Islamic Studies.
The College of Education, in cooperation with the College of Graduate Studies, offers seven master’s programs in various educational specializations. These master’s programs include Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Psychology, Foundations of Education, and Educational Administration. Additionally, there is a Master’s in Executive Administration program offered under the umbrella of the Department of Educational Administration, as well as a diploma program in Educational Guidance under the supervision of the Department of Educational Psychology. A master’s program of Education in Instructional Design and Technology has also been added under the Department of Educational Technology.
