Department of Educational Administration

Overview

While the preparation and training of human resources are responsibilities of various societal institutions, the education system and its components represent the primary tool for society in performing these functions. It has become widely accepted that the development of this system is closely linked to administrative renewal within it, to the extent that one could say that administrative development is central to all educational progress. Indeed, educational advancement— in some respects— involves transitioning to more flexible and effective administrative models. These considerations place significant responsibilities on teacher preparation institutions in Kuwait, with the College of Education at Kuwait University being at the forefront due to the central and pivotal role of teachers in the educational process.
Consequently, the Department of Educational Administration, in collaboration with other academic departments in the college, strives to fulfill its responsibilities in preparing and qualifying teachers to align with the nation’s aspirations for advanced and continually evolving education. The department works to enhance and activate its role in teacher and researcher preparation and performance development, both during initial training and in-service training. This involves updating its university courses to align with the rapid advancements in management practices in general and educational management in particular. Additionally, the department offers various training courses and engages in academic and community activities both within the college and in other educational and community institutions. The department aims to frame its academic and community activities within a pedagogical plan that outlines the objectives to be achieved, the methods to achieve these objectives, and mechanisms for monitoring implementation and providing feedback to ensure continuous development and address any obstacles that might impede achieving the desired goals.
